Following the successful launch of EPOS, the science and history magazine for the iPad, the WELT Group is now also offering the magazine in English. On downloading the application from the Apple iTunes Store, it automatically detects the language in which the operating system of the iPad is running, and installs the appropriate version.
Ulrich Machold from Axel Springer Ideas: “EPOS is the May 2014 iPad App of the Month – that speaks for the success of our product. In response to explicit requests from users, we now have developed another language version; having this digital narrative format in English now also makes it accessible to an international audience.”
EPOS is a new digital narrative format, which edits great stories and topics in multimedia formats for the iPad. Its specialty: EPOS focuses on reading. The app is a definitively linear product; the user controls it solely by scrolling text in the display. Additional content such as animated graphics, photos, or videos automatically enrich the text and make the narrative come alive. EPOS was developed jointly by Axel Springer Ideas, the Axel Springer SE ideas and development laboratory, and a small project team led by Hans Evert.
EPOS is now available in German and English from the Apple iTunes Store, each edition of the science and history magazine costs 6.99 euros.
